Starting a Bells Virtual Scribe Session/Note
In the web application, the Bells Virtual Scribe flow has been merged with the Start Note flow. Now, instead of starting a Bells Virtual Scribe session and then separately starting a note from that session, the Virtual Scribe session information, consent and signature process then flows into the progress note writing experience.
If your organization is configured for Bells Virtual Scribe, the user starting the note is Virtual Scribe Enabled and the Documentation Type is set to Progress Note in the sub-footer of the Session Information display is a toggle setting for “Include Scribe”.
When toggled off, no Virtual Scribe information is captured and the Virtual Scribe flow does not initiate.
When toggled on, the Virtual Scribe session information is also captured. This includes the "Are others present?" setting in the sub-footer as well as the additional attendees handling in the right pane.
When Next is selected, the Virtual Scribe process begins with Consent and Signatures (if configured) and into the Recording.
There is remember functionality as part of the Virtual Scribe settings for “Include Scribe” and “Are others present?” based on the Patient + User combination. The remember functionality also takes the Patient Refuses Recording setting into account.

Scripts
Bells Administrators can configure Scripts as part of Bells Virtual Scribe configuration. A script shows during the Virtual Scribe recording to aid practitioners, guide the session and is completely editable during the recording and progress note. Scripts remain with the session/note and show in the Patient Chart Virtual Scribe tab as well as the Note Preview in Bells.
The Bells Virtual Scribe configuration has moved out of Organization Setting Preferences and now lives in it's own menu section as Bells Virtual Scribe.
The configuration is tabbed across three tabs.
Consent houses all of the Consent configuration and settings.

Clicking + New Script opens the Configure Script display to configure and set up a new script.

Clicking a row in the display grid allows you to edit a script and on hover of the row, users can delete Scripts that are no longer needed.
Optimized Start Note - Script
There are a few things to know to use Scripts when starting a note
- Scripts are only available if the Optimized Start Note flow is enabled
- Scripts need to be configured in Organization Settings - Bells Virtual Scribe - Scripts tab
- In the Start Note display, the Script selection will only show if the session details for Virtual Scribe has “Are others present” turned on.
The Script selection shows in the right pane, before Participant details are added to the Virtual Scribe session details.

When a Script is selected, in the left pane of the recording display users will see the configured Script. Scripts are configured text to help guide users through their sessions. Session details can be added to the Script on the left through the recording session or when writing the progress note.

Scripts remain with the session/note and show in Bells alongside the session/note. Progress Note Preview also includes a view of the Script.

Bells Virtual Scribe - Live Transcription
Now when recording your session, you can enable Live Transcriptions to show the live text from the recorded conversation as you're recording.
Once in the recording display, a toggle shows in the bottom right corner for “Live Transcript”
When toggled on, the main pane shows the transcription for the session during the recording.

The Live Transcript toggle includes remember functionality, when set the 1st time Bells will remember moving forward and have it turned on moving forward until turned off.
The Live Transcript continues into the progress note flow and shows in the left pane during the progress note.
